Thank you to those who tuned into the mega show. If you watched you may have noticed that there were a TON of technical issues. But if you been watching the show for over a year, you will know that these things happen from time to time even in the Studio.
I packed the entire studio into my car and drove out to Anaheim California for the show. I had backup wires, mics, cables and of course the confetti cannon ;). I got to the hotel to check in. The night before they told me to show up at 9am since my room was vacant so I did. After HOURS of being told it would be "Just a few more minutes" I was told they overbooked the hotel and my room was not available. The only room they could give me was the smallest room in the hotel that would hold at most 3 people.
SO now it's about noon with 6 hours to go until show time and now I have no place to do the show, and needed to find a last minute room in California on a Friday..Thankfully an iPhone app saved the say and I checked into one right up the road. NOW my original plan was to buy the high speed internet at the original hotel and use that, but have a hotspot as a plan B which I have used before. The new hotel did have internet but I tested both setups just to be sure. I barely finished setting everything up before the show was scheduled to start. As some saw everything was streaming perfect in great quality up until LITERALLY 6:00pm. Not only did the internet fail, but my hotspot was not connecting, and when the hotspot WOULD connect, the LTE was about as fast as the EDGE network from back in the day...
So after close to an hour of tinkering we were finally live. The calls were echoing and the microphone may have broken somehow BUT the show went on, and all the guests had a blast. More importantly I saw a lot of you tweeting that "It was worth the wait". It was great experience and now I have a list of things to work on and plan for the next time I do a show like this..Which hopefully will be very very soon.
It's always great to try new things especially things that are not easy to pull off. I have to say even though the show was not perfect, it was a great learning experience for me. Now It is time for me to sleep until Friday
